The Seat Ibiza Kit Car DLC for DiRT Rally 2.0 was developed by Codemasters and released on September 23, 2019. At the time of release, Codemasters also served as the publisher, with Electronic Arts later assuming publishing responsibilities following their acquisition of the studio. This DLC added the homologated 1996 Seat Ibiza Kit Car to the game’s F2 Kit Car class, a vehicle that earned its place in rally history by winning the Rally Cup F2 championship three years in a row from 1996 to 1998. Its inclusion brought a lightweight, high-revving front-wheel drive machine to the game’s roster.

The Seat Ibiza Kit Car features a punchy 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and a lightweight chassis, delivering sharp handling and rapid acceleration on tarmac stages. As a front-wheel drive vehicle, it offers a distinct driving experience compared to the more common all-wheel drive rally cars in DiRT Rally 2.0. The car is best suited for paved rally environments, where its agility and responsiveness shine. Players can use it across multiple game modes, including My Team, Custom Championships, and Time Trial, making it a versatile and engaging option for fans of technical driving.

Promotion for the Seat Ibiza Kit Car DLC was part of Codemasters’ Season Three content rollout. The studio announced its release through Steam updates, social media posts, and community forums, often pairing it with the Peugeot 306 Maxi to highlight the return of classic F2 rally machines. Screenshots and gameplay clips showcased the car’s compact design and dynamic performance, emphasizing its legacy in European rallying. This promotional strategy helped build excitement among players who enjoy mastering front-wheel drive vehicles and tarmac-focused stages.

Reception to the DLC was generally positive, particularly among fans of vintage rally cars and the F2 Kit Car class. Players praised the Seat Ibiza Kit Car for its authentic handling, detailed modeling, and the added variety it brought to the game’s vehicle lineup. While it didn’t introduce new gameplay mechanics, its historical significance and unique driving dynamics made it a welcome addition. The car’s inclusion further strengthened DiRT Rally 2.0’s reputation as a comprehensive and immersive rally simulation, offering a broad spectrum of vehicles and driving experiences.
