The Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack for Jurassic World Evolution was developed and published by Frontier Developments and released on December 13, 2018. It arrived as one of the early post‑launch creature expansions for the base game, designed to broaden the roster of prehistoric fauna players could research, incubate and manage within their parks.

The DLC introduces three Cretaceous‑era dinosaurs with distinct behaviours and care requirements: Iguanodon, a large herbivore capable of rearing up on its hind legs and using thumb spikes defensively; Carcharodontosaurus, a large carnivore with powerful biting traits and predatory behaviours; and Dreadnoughtus, presented as an exceptionally large sauropod built to be a spectacle and a management challenge due to its size and herd dynamics. Each species brought new interaction possibilities and enclosure needs that changed how managers planned exhibits and guest flow.

Promotion for the pack made use of the game’s existing marketing channels and storefront presence, emphasising the new dinosaur models, their behavioural interactions and the added challenge of caring for larger or more complex species. Messaging framed the pack as a content drop that enriched the sandbox and challenge scenarios, while screenshots, trailers and store text highlighted the visual detail and the emergent animal interactions players could expect.

Player response to the Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack was generally positive, with many users appreciating the variety the three new species added to park composition and animal galleries. Community feedback noted enjoyment of the new behaviours and the management adjustments required to accommodate larger or more aggressive species, and the pack was seen as a solid, well‑received addition to the game’s ongoing DLC lineup.
