Introduction ------------ Hello everyone, and welcome to one of the most ambitious reskin projects that has ever been made (certainly by me/us) This readme serves as instructions that MUST be followed in order to install correctly, and failure to do so will result in errors when trying to use these reskins. What does it do? ---------------- Well, this pack provides you with another TEN livery variations of the Class 52, showing examples of every operational mainline scheme and many different numbered locos. The config files have been altered so that the train starts with the brakes applied instaed of fully off as standard(!) We have also added custom particles and scripting to give dnamic exhaust that reacts in line with what you are doing with the throttle and works as a companion to the superb sound set by Armstrong Powerhouse. And I think that just about covers it. What do you need? ---------------- There are two things that are essential for this package to work. One is the officially licensed D1015 Western Champion DLC, available here - http://store.steampowered.com/app/222635/ Two is the Armstrong Powerhouse Class 52 Pro Soundpack, available here - http://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=149 Before Installation ------------------- Before beginning installation of this pack. First you have to navigate to your Class 52 DLC folder and extract the .ap file into that folder to build up the asset folder structure. Second, install the Armstrong Powerhouse Pro Soundpack by following the included documentation. To ensure that previous versions of reskins will not cause conflict with this pack it is important that we make sure the Class_52 folder contains ONLY the following folders: AP Bogies BR-Blue_D1005_AP BR-Blue_D1015_AP BR-Blue_D1021_AP BR-Blue_D1031_AP BR-Blue_D1058_AP BR-Blue_D1070_AP CommonScripts Default If there are any other folders, you should delete these before proceeding with the installation. Now you are ready to move on to installation of this pack. Installation ------------ The two files that are contained in this zip file with the exception of this README need to be extracted to seperate locations. 1. Select 52 mega.rwp and extract it to your desktop so that it is easy to find later. 2. Select Mega pack.bat and extract this to the location of your TS201x Assets folder, the default location for this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets. When you have done that, navigate to your Assets folder in Windows Explorer and double left-click Mega pack.bat and wait for the file copying process to complete - You will know it is complete because the window will close automatically at the end. Now open your Railworks folder, the default location for this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks and locate the file Utilities.exe - double left-click this and if Windows gives you a threat warning about running the program via User Control select 'Yes' to run the program. You now have a basic front end with 5 tabs at the top - single left-click the tab titled 'Package manager' and then press the 'Install' button on the screen that comes up, this button is in the centre vertically and over to the right hand side. This will open a small File explorer window, you need to navigate to your computers Desktop and select the 52 mega.rwp you extracted their earlier. Once this has installed you should now have everything to enable you to run this package in full, but you will need to make your own user scenarios and Quick Drive consists for fuller interaction within TS2015. Please note due to limitations within the software, the reskin blueprints will not be selectable for Quick Drive consists, but they will be available in the Scenario Editor. Disclaimers and limitations --------------------------- Let's get the bad out of the way, if your TS201x installation fails, if your hard drive breaks and even if you blow up the local electricity substation, the contributors and providers of this pack WILL NOT be held liable for any damage caused. By following the processes outlined you understand and accept the risks that the inclusion of non-standard assets can have. Phew..done. The particles used in this add-on for simulated exhaust were provided by Chris Barnes and all work remains copyright to him and usage is provided with no allowance for modifications or further distribution in ANY WAY. Special permission was granted to the lead author of this pack to modify these were required and even though they represent modified versions of the original, all copyright and restrictions are retained by the original script author. Reskins were produced by Matthew Wilson and Ewan Rutledge and we have no objection for others to base any further reskins upon our original work in line with the following conditions. 1. The reworked items must be provided free of charge and not as part of ANY payware or donationware product. Usage in payware or donationware items may be granted but these will be scrutinised on an individual basis upon request. 2. Credit for the original work must go to the authors of this pack within documentation produced. If you wish to use unaltered graphics files in projects within the above limitations then please provide them to users via a batch file or executable that duplicates the originals from their installed location, you must not redistribute such files without express permission from BOTH authors. That's about it on the heavy stuff, be sensible, make contact - we are mere human beings and we will engage and we just ask for some thought and appreciation. Our thanks ---------- As lead author of this pack, Matt Wilson would like to recognise various contributions to the final package. Ewan Rutledge - for reskins, feedback and creative ideas. Chris Barnes - for custom scripting and particle emitters. Richard Armstrong - for the fantastic sound pack and those who helped him with scripting, physics etc to make the Class 52 Pro Soundpack such a compelling purchase. Steve Boon - the information he provides at http://www.jboon.fsnet.co.uk/ has proved inavluable in creating real life examples of locos that wore specific liveries during their working life. The owner of Rail Blue website - http://www.railblue.com, this gave a full list of Class 52 locomotive names from which suitable members to represent liveries could be chosen. To all of the beta testers that have helped to provide invaluable feedback and comment that has enabled errors and mistakes to be ironed out (hopefully) And anyone else who I may have forgotten, I apologise but your support is what makes the community element of the simulator work. Thank you and enjoy.
