The Semmeringbahn – Mürzzuschlag to Gloggnitz DLC for Train Simulator Classic was developed by Dovetail Games and released in 2015. This 41 km (25-mile) route is renowned for its challenging terrain and breathtaking Alpine scenery. As the world's first standard-gauge mountain railway, it features a 457-meter altitude difference over its length, with 60% of the track on a 2–2.5% gradient and tight-radius curves as sharp as 190 meters.

The route is adorned with over 100 stone bridges, 16 tunnels, 11 iron bridges, and 14 viaducts, making it a visually stunning experience for players. Notable landmarks include the Schwarza, Kassulkraus, and Kauterina viaducts, as well as the S6 motorway viaduct at Klamm-Schottwein. The Mürzzuschlag locomotive yard adds to the operational depth of the route.

The DLC includes the ÖBB Class 1116 electric locomotive in its ÖBB livery, along with a variety of freight wagons, including Habbins bogie van wagons, Zags bogie tanker wagons, SGGRSS container wagons, and TDRRS two-axle hopper wagons. These assets provide a comprehensive experience of both passenger and freight operations along the Semmeringbahn.

Players have praised the Semmeringbahn route for its meticulous design and the immersive challenge it offers. The combination of steep gradients, sharp curves, and scenic beauty makes it a standout addition to Train Simulator Classic.
