Lines Blocked After Person Struck by Train Near Reading
Rail services between Reading and Newbury / Basingstoke have been suspended after emergency services responded to an incident on the line.
All tracks in the affected section are currently closed while responders carry out their work. Great Western Railway has confirmed the disruption follows a person being struck by a train. As a result, trains may be cancelled, diverted or revised, with delays of up to 90 minutes reported. Major disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.
Rail replacement buses have been arranged between Reading and Basingstoke to help passengers complete their journeys. Ticket acceptance is also in place on alternative operators and routes where possible, although travellers are being warned that these arrangements may change at short notice.
Passengers are strongly advised to check with their train operator before setting out.
