Assetto Corsa EVO is a sim racing game developed by Kunos Simulazioni and published by 505 Games. It was released in Early Access for Microsoft Windows on January 16, 2025, marking the third major installment in the Assetto Corsa franchise. As the successor to Assetto Corsa Competizione, EVO builds upon the series’ legacy of realism and technical precision, while introducing a broader range of vehicles and racing disciplines. The game launched with a curated selection of content and is expected to expand significantly throughout its Early Access period.

At launch, Assetto Corsa EVO featured 20 cars and 5 laser-scanned tracks, including Brands Hatch, Mount Panorama, Suzuka, Imola, and Laguna Seca. The game supports multiple modes such as Single-player, Quick Race, Practice, Driving Academy, Special Events, Hotstint, and Test Drive. EVO emphasizes a refined physics engine, enhanced tire and suspension modeling, and a new aerodynamic simulation system. It also introduces a modular content structure, allowing players to explore a wider variety of motorsport categories, from road cars and classics to hypercars and modern race machines.

The game was promoted through a series of developer-led previews, trailers, and community updates. Kunos Simulazioni highlighted the game’s technical advancements and its expanded scope compared to previous titles. A key element of the promotional campaign was the Driving Academy mode, designed to help players improve their skills through structured lessons and challenges. The developers also emphasized the importance of community feedback during Early Access, inviting players to shape the game’s evolution through testing and suggestions.

Reception to Assetto Corsa EVO’s Early Access release has been mixed to positive. Players praised the improved physics, car handling, and visual fidelity, noting a clear step forward from previous entries. However, some criticism was directed at the limited content available at launch and occasional performance issues. The community has expressed optimism about the game’s potential, especially given Kunos Simulazioni’s track record of post-launch support and iterative development. The inclusion of a wide range of car classes and the promise of future content updates have helped maintain interest.

While the game is currently only available on PC via Steam, Kunos Simulazioni has confirmed that console versions are in development. These are expected to follow after the full PC release, bringing the EVO experience to PlayStation and Xbox platforms. The developers have stated their intent to maintain feature parity across platforms where possible, including support for multiplayer, dynamic weather, and advanced physics. With its ambitious scope and community-driven development model, Assetto Corsa EVO aims to redefine the standard for sim racing in the years ahead.
