The VDL Bus Pack DLC for Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop was developed by stillalive studios and published by Astragon Entertainment. It was released on June 23, 2022, expanding the game's bus fleet with three new electric buses from the Dutch manufacturer VDL Bus & Coach. The pack introduced the Citea SLF-120 Electric, a 40-foot e-bus; the Citea SLFA-180 Electric, a 60-foot articulated e-bus; and the Citea SLFA-181 Electric in a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) design, each offering unique features and capacities to enhance the player's simulation experience.

In addition to the new bus models, the DLC included five new interior designs, allowing players to further customize their buses to suit their preferences. These interiors provided a variety of aesthetic options, contributing to the overall immersion and personalization of the game. The VDL Bus Pack aimed to offer players more choices and flexibility in managing their bus fleets, aligning with the game's focus on realism and detailed simulation.

Promotion for the VDL Bus Pack was carried out through Astragon's official channels, including their website and social media platforms. The marketing highlighted the addition of the new VDL bus models and the customization options provided by the new interior designs. The DLC was positioned as a way for players to upgrade their bus fleet with brand-new, licensed vehicles, enhancing the realism and variety of the game.

Reception of the VDL Bus Pack was generally positive among players who appreciated the inclusion of new, licensed bus models and the added customization options. The new buses were well-received for their detailed designs and the variety they brought to the game's fleet. However, some players noted that the pack was purely cosmetic and did not introduce new gameplay mechanics, which may not appeal to those seeking more substantial content additions. Overall, the DLC was considered a valuable addition for players interested in expanding their bus fleet with new, licensed vehicles and customization options.
