Carbox is developed and published by Hues Games and was released on 9th December 2025. The game is currently available on PC, with no confirmed releases for consoles or other platforms at this time.

Carbox is a sandbox arcade racing game that combines traditional racing with creative building mechanics. Players can race across a variety of challenges and missions while unlocking a range of vehicles, each with unique handling. One of the game’s key features is the World Editor, which allows players to create custom tracks and entire cities across diverse biomes such as snowy landscapes and deserts. These creations can then be shared with the community. The game also includes multiple modes, such as taxi-style passenger missions, police chases, survival-based health and fuel challenges, a “blind spot” mode where the environment generates dynamically as you drive, asynchronous multiplayer, and global leaderboards.

The game was promoted through a demo released ahead of the full launch, offering players a chance to experience the sandbox and racing features before the official release. Media coverage leading up to launch highlighted Carbox’s blend of racing and creative building, emphasizing the game’s appeal to both racing enthusiasts and fans of user-generated content.

As Carbox has just launched, there are no official Steam reviews yet. Early feedback from forums and community discussions based on the demo is cautiously positive. Players have praised the concept and creative freedom of the World Editor, noting the fun of building and sharing tracks. Some players, however, have pointed out that the vehicle handling feels a little unpolished, with steering sometimes sluggish or inconsistent. Overall, Carbox is drawing attention for its ambitious mix of racing and sandbox creativity, with early impressions optimistic but tempered by minor concerns about controls.
