Buy Euro Truck Simulator 2: United Kingdom

Euro Truck Simulator 2: United Kingdom is currently in development and therefore unavailable to purchase.

The United Kingdom rework DLC is being developed by SCS Software, the same studio behind ETS2. The project was officially announced in October 2025 via the SCS blog, though the team notes that development is still in its very early stages. As always, SCS Software also acts as publisher for the base game and its expansions. The rework is designed for the same platforms as Euro Truck Simulator 2: Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Rather than a simple content pack, this is a full map rework: the UK region is being rebuilt from scratch. The reason given is that the original UK map was created at a different scale than the rest of the game, so the team is rescaling and redesigning the landmass to match modern standards. The reworked map will include more detail across the country, including both England and Scotland, and will integrate new cities like Leeds, as well as additional rural and urban locations. Some legendary landmarks, such as Stonehenge, are confirmed to be part of the redesigned layout. The update will also take into account left‑hand traffic, which adds extra complexity to the road design.

Promotion for Project UK pretty cleverly leaned into British tropes: the teaser video was styled around “How To: Proper Cup of Tea,” featuring a voice‑over and British-themed visuals. In the official blog announcement, SCS shared insights from the project lead, who explained that over twenty map designers are working on the rework, supported by teams dedicated to research, assets, roads, and programming. The announcement also hinted that the rework is one of the most ambitious map projects the studio has undertaken, and that the new UK layout will be prepared with future content in mind (such as an upcoming coach‑driving DLC).

Community reaction has been enthusiastic. Many longtime players welcomed the rework as long overdue, noting that the old UK map was dated and lacking in detail compared to newer regions. Some have expressed cautious optimism, pointing out that rebuilding a whole country is a massive undertaking, so it may take time before it’s complete. Still, overall the announcement has been framed as a major win for the ETS2 community — a thoughtful investment in a core part of the game’s map that many players have wanted to see modernized.
