Inn Tycoon is developed by Evil Goose Games and published by GameDev.ist in collaboration with Gamersky Games. The title launched fully on 7 November 2025, following a period in Early Access that began on 26 August 2024. During that early release period, the developers expanded the systems, refined mechanics based on player input, and prepared the game for a wider audience, positioning it as a modern entry in the management-simulation genre.

The game is currently released for Windows PC. There have been no confirmed console or mobile editions announced, and the focus has remained squarely on PC as the primary platform. Prior to full release, the studio also offered a standalone prologue version, allowing players to try a slice of the game’s mechanics and atmosphere before committing to the main title. This early version served as an accessible introduction to the concept and helped build an initial player community.

Gameplay revolves around building, running, and expanding a medieval inn. Players design the layout, furnish rooms, prepare food and beverages, manage resources, and hire staff to tend to guests’ needs. As the inn grows, players can organise feasts and festivals, attract a wide variety of visitors, and navigate seasonal challenges. The core loop mixes economic strategy with creative customisation, encouraging thoughtful planning while offering freedom in how the inn is shaped and themed.

Promotion for Inn Tycoon leaned heavily on community involvement and hands-on previews. The Early Access programme encouraged direct feedback from players, which the developers regularly acknowledged through updates and patch notes. The prologue release played a key role in spreading awareness, and trailers highlighted the warm medieval setting, interior-building features, and gradual progression from humble tavern to bustling hospitality hub. Marketing emphasised both comfort and strategy, showcasing the blend of management depth and cosy presentation.

Reception has been broadly positive. Early Access players praised the relaxed tone, satisfying progression, and detailed inn-customisation mechanics. Many also noted a steady cadence of improvements and updates throughout development. While some reviews pointed out areas still being refined during the early builds, recent feedback has trended even more favourably, with users appreciating the polished gameplay loop, charming world design, and expanding feature set following the full release.
