NASCAR 25 was developed and published by iRacing Studios, the racing specialist known for its highly realistic simulation engine. The game launched in 2025, taking over the NASCAR license under iRacing’s banner and marking a new era for official NASCAR video games.

The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam. This broad platform support means both console and sim-racing audiences are covered, with PC users gaining access slightly later than the console release. There is no indication of a mobile or legacy console version at this stage.

In terms of gameplay, NASCAR 25 delivers a fully licensed NASCAR experience, featuring all four of the national series: Cup, Xfinity, Craftsman Truck, and the ARCA Menards Series. Players can choose from multiple game modes including Quick Race, Championship, Multiplayer, and a detailed Career Mode. In Career Mode, you begin in the ARCA Menards Series, running your own garage, hiring staff, managing contracts, and racing your way up to NASCAR’s top tier. Technical authenticity is a core feature: the game includes laser-scanned tracks and cars, and a physics model tuned in collaboration with real NASCAR drivers and race teams.

Promotion for NASCAR 25 leaned into its realism and heritage. iRacing released developer diaries that highlighted their long history of racing simulation, as well as the involvement of veteran NASCAR developers. The marketing emphasised the return of NASCAR under iRacing’s stewardship, with high-fidelity graphics, accurate vehicle models, and immersive audio. Community engagement was also a priority, with Q&A sessions and behind-the-scenes videos underscoring iRacing’s commitment to building the game with feedback from both sim racers and traditional NASCAR fans.

Reception to NASCAR 25 has been mixed but generally positive. On Steam, many of the user reviews are favorable, reflecting a solid core of support. Many players praise the game’s authentic handling, the expansive driver roster, and the inclusion of all four major NASCAR series. However, some criticism has surfaced about performance issues, limited crossplay options, and the absence of certain legacy or bonus features. Despite these concerns, NASCAR 25 is widely seen as a strong foundational step and a major turning point for NASCAR games under the iRacing platform.
