Professional Fishing 2

Professional Fishing 2 is developed by the Polish studio MasterCode, and it’s published by Ultimate Games S.A. in cooperation with PlayWay S.A. It was released in Early Access on PC on September 11, 2025. At launch it was clearly marked as an Early Access title, giving players access to core mechanics and content while leaving room for further development and expansion.

This game is the sequel to Professional Fishing, which first came out in 2018 as a free-to-play title. The original was well received, accumulating thousands of reviews with generally positive feedback, which set expectations for its successor. Professional Fishing 2 shifts to a paid model, introducing improvements in realism, expanded environments, and more diverse fishing mechanics. Before full release, a free demo was provided, giving players a chance to try out one of the game’s regions and experience some of its planned features.

In terms of what the game offers, players assume the role of an angler starting out with basic gear and gradually progressing. There are multiple fishing methods (for example float fishing, spinning, and feeder fishing), a variety of fish species, many different fishing spots across lakes, rivers, and ponds, and both single-player and multiplayer modes. Players also make decisions about equipment upgrades, transportation (boats, vehicles, renting or owning), and can choose between first-person or third-person perspectives. The demo / early access version includes a fair amount of content already, and the developers have laid out plans for new environments, more gear, and expanded multiplayer features, among other things.

Promotion for Professional Fishing 2 involved trailers, demos, press announcements, and early reveals. There was attention drawn to its improvements over the original: more realism, larger fishing grounds, more fish species, and broader multiplayer scope. The demo was used to build community feedback. As for reception so far, user reviews are mixed: some players are enthusiastic about the visuals, atmosphere, and fishing variety, while others point out that certain features feel under-developed or that polish is inconsistent. It seems to have captured interest especially among fans of fishing simulators, though it’s not yet universally praised.
