RENNSPORT

RENNSPORT was developed by Competition Company in partnership with Teyon, and the game officially launched on 10 November 2025 for its full release after a period in early access. On PC, the base game had been available via Steam and the Epic Games Store during its development phase. For the console release, the publisher Nacon handled distribution on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing the experience to a broader audience.

The game is a cross-platform racing simulation, supporting Windows on PC as well as current-generation consoles. Although the game began as a free-to-play offering during early access, for its full launch it has structured editions — including a standard edition and a deluxe edition — which provide different bundles of content. Future downloadable content is planned, including endurance-classic and touring-classic packs, to further expand the game over time.

Gameplay in RENNSPORT centers on high-performance racing with an emphasis on realism and competitive simulation. Players can race in classes such as GT3, GT4, and hypercars, and take part in both single-class and multi-class events. The game features a variety of laser-scanned real-world circuits, like Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, and Daytona, as well as community-created tracks. Multiplayer is a core focus, with league racing, time trials, and crossplay allowing players on different platforms to compete together.

Promotion for RENNSPORT leaned heavily into its technical pedigree and esports ambitions. The developers emphasized their collaboration with real car manufacturers and pro drivers to deliver authentic physics and sound. Marketing materials highlighted the use of Unreal Engine 5, the laser-scanned circuits, and cross-platform multiplayer. Ahead of release, there was a strong focus on community involvement, with pre-orders, a companion app to track garage and progress, and a roadmap for post-launch content driven by player feedback.

Reception has been mixed. Some players and critics praise the simulation’s ambition, the realistic sound design, and the extensive track and car variety. However, there is notable criticism around performance issues, the perceived lack of polish, and concerns about microtransaction practices or content pricing. Feedback from the early days of launch suggests that while RENNSPORT has a strong foundation and passionate vision, it still has work to do to win over a larger portion of the sim-racing community.
