The SpongeBob Kid’s Room Kit for The Sims 4 was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, releasing on 4 December 2025. It forms part of the continuing expansion of The Sims 4’s catalogue of themed content. Like other add-ons, it requires the base game and is available across the same platforms as The Sims 4, including PC and consoles, with no separate alternate editions beyond standard compatibility.

This kit introduces a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed collection of children’s bedroom items. Players can furnish rooms with bright, cartoon-style décor inspired by the series, including a SpongeBob bed, pineapple-shaped furniture, themed shelving, toys, wall decals of characters such as SpongeBob and Patrick, and playful lighting and accessories. It also adds related clothing items for Sims, allowing households to reflect the colourful aesthetic of Bikini Bottom within a family gameplay setting.

Promotion took place alongside the announcement of a broader collaboration that also included the SpongeBob’s House Kit and a limited bundle combining both packs. Marketing leaned into nostalgia and the novelty of crossover content, sharing previews of furniture, toys and décor that highlighted how the items would look in children’s bedrooms. Community discussion increased near release, with players reacting to the unexpected nature of a SpongeBob partnership and sharing early impressions on social platforms and forums.

Early reception has been mixed but generally curious. With only a small number of user reviews present so far, feedback is mainly drawn from community reactions rather than consensus metrics. Many players appreciate the pack for its fun theme and bright creativity, particularly for households with children. Others feel the stylistic shift is unusual compared to typical Sims content, describing it more as a light-hearted novelty than a must-have addition. Overall, the kit has sparked discussion and interest, appealing most to fans of SpongeBob or those seeking a distinct, playful design option for kids’ rooms.
