All railway lines between London Euston / Clapham Junction and Watford Junction have been closed while emergency services respond to an ongoing incident. The disruption is affecting multiple operators, with services subject to cancellation, alteration or delays of up to 40 minutes. Problems are expected to continue until at least 16:00.

Trains between Richmond or Clapham Junction and Stratford (London), as well as services linking London Euston and Watford Junction, are among those impacted. Passengers are being urged to check before travelling as timetables may change at short notice.

Avanti West Coast has advised customers that if their booked train is cancelled, tickets will be accepted on either of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before or after the original departure time.

London Northwestern Railway says tickets will be valid at no extra cost on London Underground Northern line services between London Euston and Edgeware. London Overground customers may use their tickets on London Buses via any reasonable route, also at no additional charge.

Southern has confirmed that extensive ticket acceptance arrangements are in place. Passengers are reminded that alternative travel options can be withdrawn with little notice and should check with their operator before setting out.

UPDATE:

It was confirmed that the emergency services have now completed their work and all lines were fully reopened after 16:00.
