c2c adopts new OP1 platform to boost disruption response and service delivery
c2c Railway has introduced a new digital intelligence platform designed to improve real-time decision-making and enhance passenger information during disruption. The operator launched the system, known as OP1, at its Service Delivery Centre in Upminster following a year-long collaboration with CPC Project Services and technical partner OP1.
The platform integrates multiple live data sources – including train diagrams, service status updates, unit locations and driver hours – into one interface, allowing staff to monitor operations more efficiently. By analysing live information and using AI to turn data into actionable insight, OP1 aims to support faster responses to incidents and deliver clearer customer communication when delays occur. c2c is the first national rail operator to use the technology.
Gail Moore, c2c Head of Service Delivery, said:
“The introduction of OP1 means that c2c’s control centres, depots, station staff and managers will have full access and greater insight into real-time service information than ever before. It will help to drive high performance, while also improving passenger services and customer communication. The platform vastly reduces the time required to search and gather live service information, allowing the team to make quicker and better-informed decisions around alleviating and minimising service disruption.”
Managing Director Rob Mullen added:
“The safety of our customers and communicating with them in a timely and efficient manner remains our number one priority. The OP1 system will transform the way in which we work, ensuring that c2c continues to be one of the most informed Train Operating Companies in the country.”
CPC Project Services welcomed the launch, highlighting the system’s modern approach to operational insight. Managing Partner Steve Mole said:
“As our technical solutions partner, OP1 is enabling us to support our rail clients’ in new and innovative ways by harnessing the power of data to improve performance. c2c is the first national adopter of OP1’s revolutionary data driven platform, and it’s great to see our successful collaboration now in action at c2c’s Service Delivery Centre.”
Charlotte Hughes, Director at OP, added:
“We’re changing the game for rail operators and are delighted to be working with c2c as an early adopter of this technology. OP1 is automating previously manual operations and providing enhanced situational awareness to enable increased, safer performance. We’re committed to enhancing our capabilities and features to bring our technology to wider operational areas for a data driven future for rail.”
