c2c Railway is offering free travel to service personnel and veterans travelling to and from Remembrance events on the weekends of 1 & 2 November and 8 & 9 November. The offer is available for those attending both the Submariners’ Remembrance Service and the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London.

Serving military personnel and veterans attending the Submariners’ Remembrance Service can travel to London on either Saturday 1 or Sunday 2 November, with return journeys from London available on Sunday 2 November only. Those attending the Cenotaph Service of Remembrance on Saturday 8 or Sunday 9 November will also receive free travel, including complementary return journeys on Sunday 9 November.

Free travel is available to current serving Armed Forces personnel in uniform and veterans travelling with their medals. Customers may be asked to provide identification such as a Ministry of Defence-issued MOD90 ID card, a Veterans Railcard, a Veterans Oyster card, a Veterans ID, or proof of pension showing veteran status.

c2c Managing Director, Rob Mullen, said: “At c2c, we take great pride in remembering and honouring those people that keep us safe and those that made the ultimate sacrifice to protect all of us from the oppressive regimes that threatened the world in 1914 and 1939. We’re honoured to offer veterans and serving military personnel complimentary travel to the Remembrance events this weekend and thank them for their incredible service.”
