CrossCountry to Run Normal Services on 1 November After Strike Halted

CrossCountry has confirmed that it will operate its full timetable this Saturday, 1 November, after the RMT union suspended its planned industrial action. The decision means services will run as originally scheduled, offering certainty to customers travelling ahead of a busy weekend across the network.

The date is expected to see increased passenger numbers, with a mix of seasonal events and ongoing engineering work leading to higher demand on key routes. While trains will be running as normal, customers are being encouraged to plan ahead due to planned infrastructure upgrades in certain areas.

CrossCountry’s Managing Director, Shiona Rolfe, said: “We are pleased that RMT has suspended planned strike action this Saturday 1 November, and we look forward to welcoming passengers on board. Thanks must also go to colleagues who have worked tirelessly to reinstate a full timetable on Saturday, to make sure people can get to where they need to be.

“Engineering work on parts of the network will still mean some changes to journeys – if you’re planning to travel this Saturday, please check your journey before setting off.”

The operator is urging passengers to review journey information in advance and allow extra time, especially if travelling to major cities hosting early festive activities or through areas affected by engineering works.
