Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has announced a temporary suspension of train service through the Central Business District (CBD) in downtown Dallas on Wednesday, December 10. Service will pause at 9:30 p.m. and is expected to resume by 4 a.m. on Thursday, December 11 to allow for planned safety maintenance and system testing.

During the shutdown, DART trains will continue to operate on segments outside the CBD:

  • Red Line: Parker Road to SMU/Mockingbird and EBJ Union to Westmoreland

  • Blue Line: Downtown Rowlett to SMU/Mockingbird and EBJ Union to UNT Dallas

  • Green Line: Baylor to Buckner and Victory to North Carrollton/Frankford

  • Orange Line: Victory to DFW Airport

  • Silver Line: no service changes

Passengers needing access to Parker Road should transfer to a Red Line train at SMU/Mockingbird.

Shuttle buses will operate every 20 minutes to help passengers navigate the affected area. Green Line users can board shuttles at Victory or Baylor stations, stopping at Victory, West End, Pearl/Arts District, Deep Ellum, and Baylor stations. Riders on the Red, Blue, and Orange Lines can catch shuttles at EBJ Union or SMU/Mockingbird stations, with stops at EBJ Union, West End, Akard, St. Paul, Pearl/Arts District, CityPlace/Uptown, and SMU/Mockingbird stations.

DART is advising passengers to plan ahead, as some trips may take longer than usual and transfers to shuttle buses will be required. Staff, volunteers, and police officers will be stationed at key points to assist riders and provide guidance.
