Passengers travelling through Selhurst are being warned of significant disruption later today after emergency engineering works were scheduled to take place in the area.

The work is due to begin at 17.00 on Thursday 1 January and will remain in place until the end of service. As a result, several lines through Selhurst will be blocked, leading to cancellations and changes to planned services.

Trains running through the area may be cancelled or amended at short notice, with the impact expected to be felt across the evening peak. Most services operating between Tulse Hill and East Croydon during the evening are set to be cancelled.

Other Southern services will continue to operate but will be diverted away from Selhurst, running instead via Mitcham Junction or Streatham Hill. These diversions are likely to add time to journeys and reduce service frequency on some routes.

Customers travelling in the Selhurst area this evening are being advised to check journey planners before setting out and allow extra time where possible. Extra care is also being urged for those leaving Selhurst Park following the football match vs Fulham this evening, as rail options may be limited.
