Merseyrail is partnering with Liverpool ONE to offer free rail travel on its network on Thursday, 4 December 2025, making it easier for visitors to enjoy the start of the festive season.

Liverpool ONE is bringing Christmas to life with sparkling decorations, seasonal treats, and family-friendly activities. The shopping and leisure destination has also relaunched its famous Festive Thursdays, running from 20 November to 18 December, with even more attractions than in previous years.

Visitors on Festive Thursdays can enjoy appearances from Blizzard the Penguin, festive karaoke sessions, and a range of other entertainment. On 4 December, guests can meet Inka the Polar Bear, get up close to the cubs, and take photographs with the Arctic family.

The free Merseyrail travel initiative encourages shoppers and families to leave their cars at home and travel conveniently and sustainably to Liverpool ONE.

By providing complimentary rail journeys, Merseyrail aims to make it easier for local communities and visitors to enjoy the festive events safely and enjoyably while reducing congestion in the city centre.

To claim a FREE rail ticket, simply fill out the form here by 12pm on Tuesday 2 December. Tickets will then be emailed that afternoon, to be used on Thursday 4 December 2025 only.
