Fifteen-year-old pleads guilty to multiple charges over Harlow station assault
A teenage boy from Harlow has admitted responsibility for a serious violent incident at Harlow Railway Station, appearing before magistrates to face a series of charges linked to the same day.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be identified because of his age, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to multiple offences arising from events on 3 February 2026. The most serious charge related to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, after it was alleged he unlawfully and maliciously injured a person at the station.
The court also heard that on the same date and at the same location, the teenager assaulted a woman by beating her. In addition, he admitted being in possession of an offensive weapon, identified as a knife, while in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.
A further charge concerned the possession of a controlled drug. The boy pleaded guilty to having a quantity of cannabis, a Class B substance, contrary to section 5(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Following the hearing, the defendant was placed on conditional bail. The restrictions include a ban on entering Harlow and a prohibition on accessing any railway station unless accompanied by an appropriate adult.
He is next due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on 27 February 2026.
