Gas Leak Causes Major Rail Disruption Between Dumbarton Central and Dalmuir
Passengers travelling between Dumbarton Central and Westerton or Clydebank are facing major disruption until the end of the day due to a gas leak near the railway between Dumbarton East and Bowling.
All lines between Dumbarton Central and Dalmuir are currently closed, with services either cancelled, running up to 30 minutes late, or revised. To help passengers, ScotRail has arranged several rail replacement buses:
Four buses from Glasgow Queen Street to Dumbarton Central, departing at 18:23
Three shuttle buses running between Dumbarton Central and Dalmuir
Two shuttle buses operating from Dalmuir back to Dumbarton Central
Passengers are reminded that tickets are valid on ScotRail services via alternative routes at no extra cost. Those who had to drive to another station can use their ticket to collect their car on the return journey after validation by a staff member.
Caledonian Sleeper services may also be affected, particularly on the Fort William to Edinburgh route, though no further details have been provided.
