GWR To Launch January Sale With Up to 50% Off Train Fares

Great Western Railway (GWR) is set to brighten the post-Christmas period with its January Sale, launching next Friday. The offer will give travellers a chance to enjoy a well-earned break in the New Year with discounted fares across the network.

A total of 225,000 tickets are being released, including 150,000 Standard seats and 75,000 First Class seats, offering up to 50% off the most popular Advance fares. The sale will run for just four days, from Friday 2 January to Monday 5 January, covering travel from Friday 9 January through Friday 10 April 2026.

Passengers can snap up fares such as £22 for a journey from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads, or First Class Advance Single tickets from London Paddington to Bath Spa for just £38. Some journeys work out at as little as seven pence per mile, making it an ideal opportunity to explore the south-west of England and Wales. From winter coastal walks in Devon and Cornwall to city breaks in Oxford, Cardiff or London, the GWR network links popular destinations, historic towns and scenic regions.
