Police have released an image of a person they want to trace following an assault involving a group of teenagers outside Fareham train station. Officers believe the individual pictured may be able to assist with their enquiries.

According to police, a 44-year-old man and a woman were approached by a group of teenagers outside the station. During the encounter, the group attempted to steal the man’s rucksack before assaulting him.

The man suffered a minor injury as a result of the incident. Police said the suspects are believed to be three boys and two girls, aged between 16 and 20.

Officers described one member of the group as wearing a grey hoodie, while another was dressed entirely in black. After the incident, the group is thought to have left the area on the E4 bus travelling towards Redlands Lane.

A police spokesperson said:

"We are now issuing an image of a person we would like to speak to in connection with this incident. If you witnessed the incident or know this person, please call 101 and quote 44250562945. Additionally, we’d like to hear from you if you have CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage that may assist our enquiries."
