A power supply failure between Lancaster and Oxenholme Lake District is causing major disruption across multiple rail services. Trains are running at reduced speeds on all affected lines, resulting in delays of up to 60 minutes or services being revised to start or terminate from Preston. Network Rail engineers are on site investigating the problem, with disruption expected to continue until at least 16:30.

The issue is affecting the following operators and routes:

• Avanti West Coast: London Euston to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh
• Northern: Windermere to Manchester Airport / Oxenholme Lake District
• TransPennine Express: Manchester Airport to Liverpool Lime Street / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

Ticket acceptance is currently in place for Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express customers. Passengers are advised to check online or at their departure station before travelling.
