Man Hospitalised After Stabbing on Early-Morning GO Transit Train
A stabbing aboard a GO Transit service in Toronto has left a man hospitalised with serious injuries, though his condition has been described as stable.
Emergency services were dispatched shortly after 12:40 a.m. on Monday following reports of an assault on a westbound train travelling through the city near Weston. Paramedics said the victim, an adult man, was able to get off the train at Weston GO station, where first responders found him suffering from stab wounds.
He was taken to a trauma centre for treatment and remains in serious but stable condition, according to Toronto paramedics speaking to 680 NewsRadio.
Toronto police have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made and have not released a suspect description. Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, including what may have led to the attack and whether the victim and the person responsible were known to one another.
