Moorgate Line Blocked After Train Fault Sparks Evening Delays
Services have resumed following a train fault between Moorgate station and Finsbury Park station, although disruption is continuing as operators work to restore the normal timetable.
The line, which had previously been blocked towards Moorgate, has now reopened. However, trains running between the two stations may still be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised while services recover, with disruption expected to continue until around 20:30.
Rail operators have confirmed that some trains are currently running up to 20 minutes late as they work through the backlog caused by the earlier incident.
The first service expected to operate as booked from Moorgate towards Stevenage, the 18:41 departure, is set to leave around seven minutes behind schedule.
Passengers are still able to use alternative routes, though operators now advise that it may be quicker to wait for the next scheduled Great Northern service where possible.
Those continuing their journeys are being advised to allow at least 20 minutes of additional travel time, as delays are likely to persist while the timetable stabilises.
