Pedestrian dies after being struck by train in Langley, BC
Langley RCMP have launched an investigation after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a train on Thursday evening, Jan. 8. The collision occurred in the area of 206 Street and 98 Avenue.
Police were called at approximately 7:55 p.m. following reports that a person had been hit by a passing train. Officers were joined at the scene by crews from BC Ambulance Service and the Township of Langley Fire Department.
First responders located the individual involved, but despite their efforts, the person did not survive the incident. The area was attended by emergency personnel as the investigation began.
Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP said:
“Tragically the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene.”
Investigators are now appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and reference file number 2026-802.
