Person Killed After Being Struck by Train at Clapham Junction
Emergency services were deployed to Clapham Junction on Thursday afternoon after a person was struck by a train at the busy south London station.
Police were alerted to reports of a casualty on the tracks at around 3pm on February 12. Officers attended alongside paramedics as multiple emergency units converged on the station, including specialist teams trained to operate in hazardous environments. Despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will now be compiled for the coroner as part of the formal process to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The response led to significant disruption across parts of the rail network. Services between London Waterloo and Barnes and Wimbledon were heavily affected, with some lines closed to allow emergency crews to work safely. Major disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.
