Police Release Image After Brutal Assault at Polsloe Bridge Station
Police investigating a violent assault at Polsloe Bridge station have released a CCTV image as part of their enquiries.
The incident took place late on 30 October at around 11.40pm, when a man left a train, walked along the platform and then jumped down onto the tracks.
He reportedly followed a man in his fifties up the station stairs before throwing a glass bottle at him.
A confrontation followed, during which the victim fell down the stairs, and the suspect allegedly stood over him and repeatedly punched and kicked him in the head.
The victim sustained severe facial injuries and remains in hospital with multiple fractures.
Detective Constable Jon Stoodley said: “This was a shocking act of violence and we are looking to urgently identify the man in the CCTV image who we believe may have information which could help our investigation.
"I’d also like to appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened or the events leading up to it to get in contact with us. We know the victim may have spoken to a number of members of the public following the incident, and we’d like to speak to them as part of our investigation.
