Police release image after sexual assault at Finsbury Park Underground station

Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted at Finsbury Park Underground station in December. An image of a man officers would like to identify has been released as part of the investigation.

The incident happened at around 10pm on Friday 5 December, when a man approached a woman on the platform and sexually assaulted her. When the victim moved away, the man spat at her before boarding a train and leaving the station.

Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could assist their inquiries and are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward. The appeal forms part of ongoing efforts to trace the individual and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

British Transport Police are asking members of the public to get in touch by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 791 of 5 December. Information can also be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
