Police Release Image After Sexual Assault on Elizabeth Line Train
Detectives have issued an appeal after a woman was sexually assaulted on board an Elizabeth Line service travelling from Reading to Abbey Wood. An image has been released as officers continue their investigation into the incident.
British Transport Police said the assault took place shortly after 8am on Wednesday 20 August 2025. A man boarded the train at Maidenhead, approached the victim and went on to sexually assault her multiple times during the journey. He was also seen touching himself inappropriately before leaving the train at West Drayton.
Investigators believe the man shown in the image may hold information that could be crucial to the enquiry and are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward.
Police have also said the same individual may be able to assist with enquiries into two other similar incidents. One is reported to have taken place on an Elizabeth Line train travelling from Slough to West Drayton railway station on Tuesday 18 November, with another incident occurring at Slough railway station on Friday 25 July.
Anyone who recognises the man, or who has information that could help officers, is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 196 of 20 August. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
