Police Seek Victim After Suspected Transphobic Assault on Victoria Line
British Transport Police are appealing for the victim of a suspected transphobic assault to get in touch after a report of an attack on the Victoria line.
A third party told officers that around 3am on Saturday 25 October they were travelling on a southbound train when a man boarded at King’s Cross and made a homophobic remark. He then began hassling another passenger, and as the service pulled into Euston he struck them on the head with a glass bottle before leaving the carriage.
The victim was reported to have suffered a bleeding head injury. Officers have carried out hospital checks and other enquiries in an effort to identify them, and are urging the individual to come forward so they can ensure their welfare and continue the investigation.
Enquiries to trace the suspect are ongoing. He is described as a light-skinned Black man in his late 20s to mid-30s, with afro-style hair. At the time, he was wearing a black puffer jacket over a grey hoodie and a black wool hat.
Anyone with information is asked to text BTP on 61016 quoting reference 418 of 26 October. Details can also be shared anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
