Rail Lines Closed Between Hereford and Worcester After Emergency Incident

Emergency services are responding to an incident on the railway between Hereford and Worcester Foregate Street, leading to the closure of all lines on that section of route. Great Western Railway have now confirmed that this due to a person being struck by a train. The shutdown has been put in place to allow safe access for emergency crews as they carry out their work.

With the line closed, trains running through the area may be cancelled, delayed or amended. The disruption is expected to continue until at least 15:00, and passengers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

West Midlands Railway has confirmed it is working to source rail replacement buses to operate between Hereford and Worcester Shrub Hill, although these arrangements are still being organised. They have also confirmed that they have ticket acceptance with Transport for Wales for services from Hereford towards Shrewsbury, where you can then connect on to to their services through to Birmingham.

Great Western Railway have also confirmed they are looking to source rail replacement between the same stations.

Any ticket acceptance or alternative arrangements can be withdrawn at short notice. Always check with your chosen operator before travelling.
