Suspicious Station Movements Lead to Drug Dealer’s Downfall
A man whose suspicious behaviour at a busy railway station caught the attention of specialist officers has been jailed following a drugs and cash seizure by British Transport Police.
Sokol Hazizi, 34, of Silbury Boulevard in Milton Keynes, was sentenced to nine months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday 27 March. He had admitted offences of possessing criminal property and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
The court heard how plain clothes officers from the County Lines Taskforce became suspicious after observing Hazizi at Milton Keynes Central railway station on Thursday 4 December. He was seen entering the station, boarding a train, and returning again within half an hour — a pattern that raised concerns.
Officers moved in after he passed back through the ticket barriers and headed towards the exit. When questioned, Hazizi initially claimed he had been visiting a friend before changing his explanation, stating he had travelled to deposit money but did not have his bank card.
He admitted to carrying what he described as “a bit of cash”, though officers quickly discovered he was in possession of £2,000. Further enquiries led to a search of his home, where an additional £1,000 and herbal cannabis with an estimated value of £35,000 were recovered.
BTP Sergeant Julian Mason said:
“Hazizi tried – and failed – to bluff officers into believing his motives were entirely innocent. Sadly for him, our officers are highly skilled and experts at recognising the behaviour of anyone involved in criminal activity. Hazizi’s next trip was to custody and subsequently a jail cell. Our officers patrol the rail network 24/7. If you’re using the railway for nefarious means we will find you, seize your drugs and proceeds of crime and bring you before the courts. If you see anything suspicious on the railway text us on 61016.”
