Train services between Tonbridge and Hastings are experiencing delays after a train struck an obstruction on the line near Stonegate. Disruption is expected to continue until at least 20:00.

Reports indicate that a train collided with a deer, forcing the service to terminate at Stonegate. The train will then travel at reduced speed, out of service, to Hastings to clear the track while response teams inspect the line to ensure it is safe for other trains to pass.

Currently, trains are unable to operate between Stonegate and Hastings. While services from Hastings towards Tonbridge remain running, trains departing Tonbridge cannot pass the incident site, affecting the formation of return services.

Operators advise passengers to allow extra time for journeys and to check service updates before travelling. Ticket acceptance arrangements have been put in place on some Southern and Southeastern services, though these may change at short notice.
