Trains Cancelled and Delayed Between Glasgow and Cumbernauld Due To Emergency Incident
Rail services between Glasgow Queen Street railway station, Motherwell railway station and Cumbernauld railway station are facing major disruption this evening after emergency services responded to an incident on the railway.
All lines through the affected area are currently closed while emergency crews deal with the situation, with trains being cancelled, delayed by up to an hour or revised.
ScotRail have posted the following on X:
Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Coatbridge Central and Greenfaulds, trains on this route are currently subject to disruption. Services between Motherwell and Cumbernauld may be delayed, revised, or cancelled.
Disruption is expected to continue until around 22:00 as operators work to restore normal services once the incident has been resolved.
Passengers travelling through the area are being advised to check live journey information before setting out, as further delays and alterations remain possible throughout the evening.
