The Kyiv–Shepetivka Route DLC was developed and published by the ZDSimulator Team. It was released on 17 April 2025. As with other content for ZDSimulator, it is available for the Windows version of the base game and requires that base game to play; there are no console or alternate-platform ports listed.

This DLC recreates the real‑world railway line in Ukraine connecting the capital city Kyiv with the city of Shepetivka in the Khmelnytskyi region. The full route spans 308 km. Up to the station Korosten, the line is double-track; beyond that point it continues as a single-track. The route uses 25 kV AC electrification and includes infrastructure appropriate for such a line — stations, track layouts, signaling and electrified overhead wiring. It supports both passenger and freight operations, reflecting the route’s real-life importance for mixed rail traffic on the South‑Western Railway.

Promotion of the DLC was handled via the official Steam store page. The page outlines core details: route length, track and electrification, supported traffic types, and the requirement for the base game. As with many of the simulator’s DLC releases, there was no broad external advertising campaign; the developers seem to rely on Steam visibility and existing community and user interest within train‑sim enthusiasts to spread awareness of new content.

Reception is limited — as of now there is only one user review on Steam, which is not enough to form a broad consensus. Among community forums and discussion spaces for ZDSimulator, reactions appear mixed. Some players value the addition of a major route connecting Kyiv and Shepetivka, appreciating the realistic infrastructure and the ability to run both passenger and freight traffic. Others point out that enjoyment depends heavily on having compatible rolling stock and well‑designed scenarios: without matching locomotives or route-based missions, the line may feel underutilized. Overall, the Kyiv–Shepetivka Route seems likely to appeal most to dedicated simulation fans interested in realistic Ukrainian rail networks and mixed-use operations.
