The Kyiv–Vorozhba Route DLC for ZDSimulator was developed and published by the ZDSimulator Team and released on 17 April 2025. Like the rest of the content for ZDSimulator, this route is available for the Windows version and requires the base game. There are no console or alternate-platform ports listed, so the DLC remains PC-only.

The route adds a 297 km railway line linking the capital city Kyiv with the northeastern hub Vorozhba, passing through regions including Chernihiv and Sumy. The entire route is electrified with 25 kV AC and is mostly double-track, making it suitable for both passenger and freight traffic. The terrain is relatively flat with minor elevation changes, and the line supports long-distance and suburban passenger services as well as freight transport, reflecting its real-world significance as an important artery connecting Kyiv with northeastern Ukraine.

Promotion for the DLC was primarily via the official store page on Steam. The listing outlines essential information such as route length, electrification, track configuration, and traffic types (passenger and freight). As with many of the simulator’s expansions, there was no major external marketing campaign; awareness relies on Steam visibility and the existing community of railway-simulation enthusiasts. The release was part of a batch of content aimed at providing players with a variety of routes and realistic Ukrainian rail infrastructure.

Because the DLC is relatively new, there are currently no user reviews on Steam. Community discussion among fans of rail simulation expresses cautious optimism. Some players appreciate the addition of a major route serving both passenger and freight services, seeing the Kyiv–Vorozhba line as a valuable expansion to the world map. Others note that enjoyment depends heavily on having compatible rolling stock and well-designed scenarios: without matching locomotives or user-created content such as schedules and missions, the route may not reach its full potential. Overall, the DLC is likely to appeal most to dedicated simulation fans interested in realistic regional rail networks rather than casual players seeking simpler gameplay.
