The Shepetivka–Lviv Route DLC for ZDSimulator was developed by the ZDSimulator Team in collaboration with a contributor credited as kipast, and published by ZDSimulator Team. It was released on 11 August 2025. The DLC is offered for the PC (Windows) version of ZDSimulator and requires ownership of the base game; there are no alternative console or non‑PC ports listed.

This DLC recreates a real railway line in western Ukraine, running from Shepetivka toward Lviv, currently reaching Brody. The route crosses regions including Khmelnytskyi, Rivne and Lviv oblasts. As of release, the built section covers roughly 170 km. The line is fully double-tracked and electrified with high-voltage AC catenary. Infrastructure reconstructed in the DLC includes stations, platforms, crossings, catenary wiring, signaling, and realistic scenery — forests, fields, villages, towns and water bodies — to reflect the western Ukrainian landscape. The route supports AC electric locomotives and suburban electric trains available in ZDSimulator, and is compatible with scenario mode, free ride, the level editor and community content.

Promotion for the route appears to have been limited: the Steam store page serves as the primary announcement, laying out the route details — length, electrification type, supported traffic types, and the promise of future expansions toward full completion to Lviv. There was no large external marketing blitz; rather, the developers seem to rely on visibility within the existing community, the Steam catalogue and word‑of‑mouth among train‑sim fans. Information on languages supported and features such as Steam Workshop and level editing is provided to encourage community creation and engagement.

Reception is modest but generally positive. The DLC has a small number of official user reviews so far, reflecting the relatively recent release and limited player base. Among community forums and discussion threads related to ZDSimulator, many players welcome the addition: they appreciate the realism of a western-Ukrainian route, the detail of infrastructure and scenery, and the availability of AC-electrified track supporting modern Ukrainian rolling stock. Some caution that the route is still incomplete — with further extensions planned — and that enjoyment may depend on future updates as well as the availability of compatible locomotives and community‑made scenarios. Overall, the route appeals mainly to simulation enthusiasts who value realism and regional authenticity rather than casual players seeking immediate, polished content.
