JR EAST Train Simulator

JR EAST Train Simulator was developed by Ongakukan Co., Ltd., a company with deep roots in creating professional railway simulators for driver training and public exhibits. It entered early access in September 2022 and saw its full release in November 2022. The game is published by the East Japan Railway Company and is available for PC via major digital distribution platforms. Since launch, it has been regularly expanded via downloadable content to include additional train lines.

The game includes real-world JR East train lines such as the Keihin–Tōhoku (Negishi) line, the Hachikō line, Tōkaidō, Chūō Rapid, Ōito, and more. These additions are delivered as DLC extensions that cover full or partial segments of actual lines. Additionally, later expansions have introduced further routes like the Hokkaido Rumoi Line, preserving areas of railway lines that have since been discontinued.

The inspiration behind the game stems directly from the real JR driver training simulators used by East Japan Railway Company. Its fidelity to real-world operations, from visuals to controls, reflects a simulation philosophy built on accuracy and realism, aiming to immerse the player in the actual life of a JR East train operator.
