Appeal Intensifies After Sexual Assault on Rhyl to Manchester Airport Train
British Transport Police have issued a renewed appeal for information as detectives continue to investigate a sexual assault on a train travelling from Rhyl to Manchester Airport. Officers have now released further CCTV images in the hope that someone will recognise a man they believe may be able to assist the inquiry.
The incident occurred at around 1.45pm on Saturday 11 October. Police say the man was observed staring at a woman during the journey and making threatening gestures towards her while on board the train.
As the service arrived at Manchester Oxford Road railway station, the woman attempted to leave the train. It was at this point that the man is alleged to have approached her and sexually assaulted her.
Following the assault, the man left the train at Manchester Oxford Road. The woman did not disembark and remained on board as the service continued.
Detectives believe the individual shown in the CCTV images could hold vital information that may help establish the circumstances of what happened. They are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward.
