Detectives are appealing for help to identify a group of men after an attempted robbery on a London Underground train at Northwick Park. Images have been released as part of an investigation into the incident, which took place late on Monday evening.

Police say the incident happened just before 11pm on December 29 aboard a Metropolitan line service travelling to Northwick Park. An elderly man was threatened by a group of people while on the train.

When another passenger stepped in to help, they were assaulted by the group. The victim was slashed with a knife, suffering a cut above the eyebrow. The suspects then fled Northwick Park Underground station, taking the elderly man’s bag with them.

British Transport Police officers are now urging anyone who recognises the men in the released images, or who witnessed what happened, to come forward to assist with enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 607 of 29 December. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
