Detectives have released CCTV images in connection with an assault on the London Underground that left a man in his 40s needing surgery.

The incident occurred around 6.40pm on Tuesday 11 November aboard an eastbound District Line train from Sloane Square. A dispute began when the victim challenged a younger man who was vaping. The argument continued as the train arrived at Westminster station and escalated onto the platform.

During the confrontation, the younger man punched the victim in the face, fracturing his cheekbone and eye socket. The injuries required surgery and caused damage to his vision.

British Transport Police are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images to come forward.
