Detectives Release CCTV Image After Sexual Assault on Train Between Edinburgh and Wolverhampton
British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man in connection with a sexual assault on board a train between Edinburgh and Wolverhampton.
The incident occurred at around 9am on Thursday 23 October, when a woman travelling on the service woke to find herself being sexually assaulted. The man left the train at Wolverhampton station.
Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have information that could assist the investigation.
Anyone who recognises the individual is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 221 of 23 October 2025. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Detectives are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to help bring those responsible to justice.
