Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a woman found on railway tracks in Kilburn and are now appealing for a key witness to come forward to assist their enquiries.

Emergency services were called to the line in Kilburn shortly after midnight on Thursday 17 July 2025 following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Police officers and paramedics attended the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead. Her death is not currently being treated as suspicious, but officers say enquiries remain ongoing.

As part of the investigation, detectives are seeking to trace a man who had spoken with the woman in the weeks leading up to her death. CCTV footage shows the pair sitting together on Kilburn Priory bridge for around 20 minutes between 8.10pm and approximately 8.30pm on Saturday 5 July. During that time, they were seen talking and smoking before the man left the area.

Officers believe the man may be able to provide important context about the woman’s circumstances prior to her death and are urging him to contact police.

Detective Constable Rachel Parfitt said:

“We would like to speak to the man pictured, who is not suspected of any criminal involvement, to assist our investigation into the woman’s death. Having spoken to the woman near to the location she died in the weeks before, they may have valuable insight or information as to the wider circumstances that led up to their death. We urge them to get in touch to help us bring this investigation to a close and to help bring the woman’s family some much needed closure.”

Anyone who believes they are the man who spoke to the woman, or who has relevant information, is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 17 of 17 July. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
