DRS ends 13-year run providing Thunderbird services on the West Coast Main Line
After 13 years of dedicated service, DRS has completed its role providing Thunderbird duties on the West Coast Main Line.
For more than a decade, DRS teams have been on standby to clear the line in the event of a Pendolino breakdown, helping to minimise disruption for passengers. Both Virgin and, more recently, Avanti West Coast have relied on these rapid-response services to keep journeys running smoothly when trains encountered problems.
Avanti West Coast has thanked DRS for their support over the years, highlighting the company’s commitment and willingness to go above and beyond when called into action. DRS also expressed gratitude to its traincrew, engineers, and all staff who contributed to the success of the service.
