Emergency response at Raynes Park as casualty found on tracks

A person remains in a life-threatening condition after an incident at Raynes Park railway station on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were alerted shortly after 10am on 11 February to reports of a casualty on the tracks at the station in Coombe Lane. Officers from British Transport Police and paramedics attended the scene, and the individual was taken to hospital for urgent treatment.

Police later confirmed that the person’s injuries are considered life threatening.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said:

"Officers were called to Raynes Park railway station at 10.11am today (11 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, and a person has been taken to hospital with injuries that are thought to be life threatening. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

Train services were suspended between Clapham Junction and Barnes, as well as between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon, while emergency crews dealt with the situation. Those lines have since reopened and services have resumed.
