Etihad Rail Reveals Expanded Vision for Countrywide Passenger Services

Etihad Rail has set out further details of the UAE’s first fully integrated national passenger railway, confirming a network that will link 11 cities and regions through a series of new stations across the country.

Following the announcement of the first four stations earlier in 2025 at Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah, the operator has now confirmed additional stops at Al Sila’, Al Dhannah, Al Mirfa, Madinat Zayed, Mezaira’a, Al Faya and Al Dhaid. Together, these stations will form the backbone of a nationwide passenger rail system connecting communities across the Emirates.

The trains have been designed with a focus on passenger comfort and accessibility, featuring ergonomic seating, modern interior layouts, onboard Wi-Fi and individual power sockets. Services are planned to run on a regular timetable, offering a consistent and road-free option for travel throughout the UAE.

Etihad Rail has also highlighted the broader role the network is expected to play beyond transport alone. The passenger railway is anticipated to support domestic tourism, improve mobility options and help strengthen economic and social links between different regions of the country.

Our trains will have a distinctly Emirati identity that strengthens national cohesion, while serving as a long-term investment in the country’s transport and infrastructure sectors. These strategic projects will boost domestic tourism and establish a new regional standard for sustainable, peoplecentred mobility, enhancing community wellbeing and improving quality of life."
